Today is a New Day!

Forget last year, forget yesterday…the past doesn’t define you. If you set goals last year and didn’t obtain them, it’s ok. Today is a new day. Start over today.

After my blog post last week, “The Importance of Setting and Achieving Goals“, I got to thinking about what I said and I wanted to clarify something: If you’ve set goals in the past and not obtained them, you’re not a loser. I’ve set goals and not achieved them, too.

My point last week was to inspire you to set goals and give it 101% so you get in the habit of achieving goals so you can build momentum towards your dream life. A very small percentage of people set goals in the first place. I read only 3%….not sure if that’s correct…it seems a little low to me. So be a part of the successful people that set goals and work to achieve them.

As I mention in the video, setting goals properly will give you a better chance of achieving them. Go here to learn how. Also, BIG goals, you know, your dream goal, may change. As you are working toward the bigger picture you may discover you’d rather take a different route OR opportunities will arise that lead you down a different path. This is why at the end of the year, you analyze the goals you had set for the year and decide the goals for the next year.

Oh and ALL of this should be in writing! Not only to track your progress towards your dream life but once you’re there, you’ll have a written history of how you did it. You may decide to publish your information in order to help others achieve their dream life.  Just sayin’.

So don’t beat yourself up for the past..even if it was yesterday. Today is a new day. A new start towards tackling those goals!

GDCIC signatureHave you always been one to set goals or is this a new concept for you? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
