Who is a Success?

Success is “the achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted.”  A successful person is the one who is doing exactly what they want to do because they set out to achieve it or are working towards achieving it. I would also like to add….the successful person is the one who is happy doing what it is they set out to do.

So having said that….is a homemaker a success? Is a school teacher a success? Is an artist a success? Is a real estate agent a success? It’s really not for us to decide whether they are a success or not. It’s up to the individual to decide.

If a woman always dreamed of getting married and being able to stay home to raise their children and she is happy doing just that, then she is a success. If a woman dreamed of becoming the CEO of a multi-million dollar corporation and she is happy doing just that, then she, too, is a success. One is not more successful than the other. They are both doing what they intended for their lives.

What you want out of life will determine the path you take. Your journey is unique to you. Along the way, you will stumble and you will fall but as long as you get back up, you are a success.

If you’re not happy and not living with intent, make a change. You’d be surprised by how many people started off with a j.o.b. thinking they didn’t have any options but decided they wanted a better life and made small positive changes every day to move themselves in the direction they intended to go and ended up becoming a success and living the life of their dreams. You can do it too. It’s your choice.
