Interview with artist Deb Strain

I am so excited that I finally had my first Skype interview!!! Deb Strain was kind enough to share her story with us via a Skype interview earlier this month. Funny story….well it’s now anyway, We were going along with our interview when all of a sudden we lost our connection. I reset my internet (part of living in the boondocks is not the greatest internet connection) and called her back. We laughed it off and continued the interview. At the end of the interview I must have had a frightened look on my face because Deb said, “What’s wrong?”  I had just realized I forgot to hit the record button when I called her back so the last 20 min of the interview was not recorded!!! Oh boy, did I feel like an idiot! Deb was so sweet and said she was glad stuff like that didn’t just happen to her. She was gracious enough to do the interview over……..she’s a gem. I must say, as embarrassed as I was that this happened, I was glad it was with someone that I know real well. I promise I will get better 😉

Also, this month I video-taped and uploaded a tutorial on creating a grungy, textured acrylic painting. Even though this is for a Halloween image, the technique I teach can be used for any painting you wish to add texture and grunge to.

The next tutorial will be how to do punchneedle. So many people are interested in learning this craft so I thought I’d better do it soon.

Tutorials coming soon will be soldered jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and watercolor painted portraits. I am also working on setting up store visits and artist interviews for November. Don’t miss the fun!
